I am finally within a few pounds of my pre-baby #2 weight, so I recently went shopping for new workout gear to keep me from looking frumpy now that some of my gear is too big. Plus – is there anything more motivating than new workout gear? Mama now needs some motivation to get her to pre-baby #1 weight.
I was pleasantly surprised by all of the goodies out there right now. My exercise of choice lately is FlyWheel and walking (or should I say double stroller pushing?), and all of the items I’ve included in this post have been working out great. I plan on picking Barre3 back up in the Fall, and I am sure these would all work great for that too.
These capris from Athleta are my all-time favorite, especially now that they make a high rise version. They also make a tight (as opposed to capri) for cooler weather.
I also scooped these up and love love love them. They will be in heavier rotation as the weather heats up here in Atlanta because they are shorter than the chaturanga capris and made of a lighter fabric. I recommend them more for walking and not spinning. Although I achieved my highest score wearing them the other day, the center seam was a bit uncomfortable during some out of seat work. I’d also recommend sizing up a size (which may help with said seam issues). I think they run a bit small for Athleta.
I wanted to get these, but they didn’t have them in my size. I usually shy away from prints on my bottoms, but these are so subtle and fun. I may just have to order a pair . . .
This tank is fun and super flattering. It isn’t too tight, and it isn’t too blousy. You can wear it with the V in the front or the back. You can also knot it or leave it open and longer. Can a girl really ask for more options out of a simple tank?
I wore this one to spin Friday morning. It is a tiny bit see-thru and is a fun way to show off a fun sports bra. It is also a little longer in the front than it is in the back so it is great for spinning and squatting (but maybe not – as I learned – for post-spin grocery shopping).
I felt way cooler than I am just for wearing it. In fact, I think I may just need one of those black baseball caps that say “ATL” on them for the next time I break this tank out. I have it in black, but you can always snag the white or navy if you are feeling more adventurous.
I have to admit, all of my workout gear is black. I might try and branch out to navy with my forever favorite Athleta chaturanga capri in navy and this great top (I have the top in black and love it).
I love this tank and wear it with black, but it would look even better with the navy capris, don’t you think?
I’ve been loving this top too. It is super flattering and is great for lounging, walking, or barre/pilates/yoga. I have it in blue, but it comes in a zillion colors.
I know it is going to be getting hot, but I scooped up these long sleeved layers because even in the summer I sometimes like to change out of my sweaty tank and in to something dry and cozy — especially if I am headed to a cold grocery store after my work out.
You’ll have to trust me on this, but this is the softest sweater I’ve ever felt. I plan on wearing it until it has holes in it.
This is also a great option if you want to pull it together a bit after a work out. It would be equally cute with a pair of black capris or a black running skirt.
I am by no means a loyal Lululemon shopper — except when it comes to their sports bras. I’ve tried Athleta, Nike, Champion, etc. only to be disappointed. Lululemon is simply the best in this category. I especially appreciate that they size their bras 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc. instead of S, M, L, etc. This really helps you find the right fit. I usually size down from my normal size to ensure an extra snug fit. Nobody wants a bouncy chest during spin. No ma’am.
This bra is the perfect solution to too much gym cleavage. I have so many tanks that are too low cut that have been rescued from my donate pile because of this bra.
I also scooped these up and love them both. The first one provides good support, and the last one is a fun print to have peeking out of all your black workout gear.
I finally received my backordered pink S’well Bottle, and it has been keeping me motivated and hydrated. I may have opted for the size that holds an entire bottle of wine (just in case it needs to pull double duty this Summer).
I also love these neon hair ties from Emi Jay.
I am also obsessed with this new product from Supergoop. It is so portable and such a great way to look a little alive pre and post workout. I swipe a little on my cheeks and lips and, voila, I feel a little brighter. Don’t be scared by the bright berry color — it is very subtle I promise.
Happy sweating friends! I am off to NYC this weekend with my Mom for a girls’ weekend. Stay tuned for highlights from our trip and please send any suggestions my way.
